1. PRESIDENT'S COUNCIL FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

ESTABLISHED: 29 June 1993

MISSION: The Council shall: 1) advise the President on matters involving sustainable development, including developing and recommending to the President a national sustainable development action strategy that will foster economic vitality; 2) advise the President on fashioning an annual Presidential Award that would recognize exemplary efforts toward the advancement of sustainable development ideals, and submit nominations for the award to the President; and 3) advise the President on conducting a public awareness and participation campaign on the importance and the appropriate uses of the nation's natural and cultural resources.
