1. ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COUNCIL

ESTABLISHED: 1968

MISSION: The Council advises the Government on environmental issues, particularly the integration of environmental work and responsibility in different sectors of society. The Council will: play an active role in both national and local work towards Agenda 21 and UNCED follow-up; analyse and propose concrete measures towards sustainable development; work towards programmes for environmental awareness and adaptation in the societal sectors; and initiate new measures and working methods on other important issues within the environmental sphere.
