The World Travel and Tourism Council held its 1993 annual
meeting in Budapest, Hungary on March 8 and 9, 1993. Government
officials from ten Eastern European countries, the WTTC and the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) attended.
The Earth Council presented a report on "Tourism in the Global
Agenda for Sustainable Development".
The 1993 World Congress on Travel and Eco-Tourism addressed
several issues concerned with developing eco-tourism as a
sustainable, economic, cultural and environmental resource in
Manaus, Brazil from 20 to 23 September 1993.
