INTRODUCTION
        The     Library   aims   to   develope   a comprehensive   collection   of   documents  that is  useful for  the  faculty , students and research  scholars  in  their education  and research activities in the Department. The major objective of the library is to organise documents  and  to make; them; available to the users.

       The  Library has a collection of   7341  books ; 444 bound  volumes of periodicals; 50 theses  and 5000 reports, 6000  reprints, 22 video  cassettes, 5 CD-ROMs; non-book materials  like microfiche, floppy discs etc. over  100  titles  of  periodicals  are  being currently  received  in  the library of which 1197 are subscribed.

Books: Arranged by Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. Consult catalogue or data base in the Computer  for  Call  Number  of  a book before going to the Shelf. Enquiry with Library staff if find any problem in searching a book.

 1.Reservation:
A book on a loan can be reserved at Circulation Counter
      Reserved books are kept seperately for 2 days for each member. The resrvation lapses Automatically after 2 days and the next person gets the chance.
Periodicals and bound volumes cannot be reserved

 
 2.Renewals:
Renewals are allowed only when there is no claim by others
a) Two renewals for a book on its presentation at the Circulation Counter or filling in a  renewal form or through email.
b) No phone/postal Renewal please.
c) Periodicals/bound volumes cannot be renewed.

 
3.Recalls:
a) If a books is checked out, it can be recalled for your use.
b) If a book you have is recalled  for use by someone, please return it immediately.

 
 4.  Overdue Charges:
 25 paisa per book per day for the first five days and 50 paisa per day for the subsequent days.

 SERVICES
Xeroxing: Xeroxing of Materials available in the Library are provided on payment basis. ( Payment  should  be given  in  advance) Xerox  Timings:
Mon. – Fri. 9 AM  TO  5.00 PM,  Sturday 9 AM  TO  4.30 PM

       Xeroxing a complete book is voilation of copyright act.

British  Library  Borrowing  Cards: We  are   the  member of  the  British Libray and and We have cards of  (The British Library. Members of CES Library  Can  submit  their  CES  Library  card  and  take British  Library Cards.)
Display   of    xerox   copies  of  articles  published   by  our  department faculty / students  in  various  periodicals  being  received in our Library.
Display   announcements   received  from  various  institutions  regarding  conferences,  workshops,  seminars,   job advertisements etc.
List   of  Journals  related  to  our  Library  available  in Central  Library.

GENERAL INSTRUCTION
Loss  of Borrower’s  Card  to  be  reported  immediately  in writing to the Chariman/Librarian.
Borrower’s   cards   to  be  returned   to  the  Library   before  leaving  the Departemt.
 “No due  certificate”    will   be   issued   at    the   time   of   l eaving  the Department, on return of all the library borrower’s cards.
Change in the  Department,  Status,  Address   etc.  to  be informed and the tickets corrected.
Please handle   the  documents   with  great  care  as  they  are  costly  and valuable, particulary loose issue  of  periodicals. Please  do  not  mutilate  documentss.
All   books  and  if required, the contents of all brifecases, etc., which are being taken out of the library,  are subject to  inspection  by Library  staff.  Please cooperate.
Personal  Papers and non-library  materials  should not be left unattended on tables.
On voilation of  Library  rules or  misconduct of  any  reader,  the Library authorities can withdraw the library facilities to that particular individual
Please do:
 Sign  in   the  register  kept  at  the  entrance ,  while  entering  the  libray
 Show  the  documents  which  are  being  taken  out of  the  library, to the library staff.
Collect the xeroxed articles within two days after completion
Contact the staff for any queries.
Keep the library premises tidy.
Use the dustbins
Please do not:
Do not  waste  more  than  half  an  hour  to  locate  the  documents.  If not located, contact the library staff.
Do  not  move  books / journals  from  its  specific  area  to  another  area
Do not replace the documents
 Do not give borrower’s cards to others.
